"This is a drawing of a polar bear which is made of ivory, I wanted to challenge myself with something I've never seen on a drawing, this polar bear shows what it mainly diets on, since people down south are curious and do not have the knowledge the hunters have up north, well, just to show the mammals are not drowning or starving."

Northern Lights Legend
Tim Pitsiulak
Cape Dorset, 2012
Graphite, Coloured Pencil
26" x 20"
SOLD

"Why the checkered flag? Well, this drawing shows a shaman floating on northern lights,I like to draw legends on my own idea or I guess I can say 'My point of view', being self taught to art. This drawing shows what a legend can do to overcome his or her powers, strengths and abilities. We were told stories by our parents about the legend(s) they too were told by our ancestors, it will live on and on I hope."
