14. Raindrop Root Paddle
Angela Marston
Coast Salish
Yellow Cedar, Abalone, Cedar Root
37.5" x 4.75" x 1"
SOLD

Angela Marston’s paddle reflects on the spiritual importance of fresh water. The design on the blade is created in the form of a raindrop and the imagery refers to the spirit of life that is connected to running water.
The small size of the paddle pays homage to her grandmother who had small paddles custom made to assist her while walking and to dig out roots and clams on her walks into the forest and along the ocean. It is embellished with cedar bark strips on the handle and abalone inlays.
