This paddle speaks to the many abilities of the eternal trickster in Northwest Coast mythology - the Raven. Here he is seen transforming into his human form with face, arms and legs as well as beak and feathers illustrated. Gray carves in the lyrical Tsimshian style that is characterized by intricate and delicate carving with complex designs and cleanly graduated surfaces.
